What is Drostanolone Used for?

Drostanolone (INN; also known as Dromostanolone or Drolban), marketed as Masteron, is an anabolic steroid. Drostanolone is a part of the dihydrotestosterone (DHT) family. Its main medical uses include lowering cholesterol levels and as an antineoplasticagent in the treatment of some cancers. It is most commonly marketed as the ester drostanolone propionate (trade name Masteron). Drostanolone has been used for bodybuilding, mainly in "cutting cycles."

In addition to increasing muscle mass, drostanolone also may prevent muscle loss during dieting while increasing loss of body fat. Some athletes may use the drug to build strength but maintain a certain weight to compete in a particular weight class. It may also be used to enhance the appearance of muscles — making them look harder and more defined — for those competing in body building competitions. Drostanolone also has a diuretic effect, which can sometimes increase weight loss.
